Eyecare by Kim is an independent optometry practice in Hout Bay. We make healthy vision simple. Eye exams, glasses and contact lenses through to children's vision therapy and dry eye treatment, for the whole family.
Why the practice exists
Our purpose
Most sight loss is preventable, and most of the conditions that cause it are silent for years. The work that matters is therefore the unglamorous kind: catching things early, explaining them properly, and keeping people coming back before there is anything wrong.
So the practice is built around four things. Helping people understand their own eye health. Intervening early across every age group. Keeping quality care affordable. And supporting eye wellness over time with guidance that fits the person in front of us.
Practically, that means one place that can look after a four-year-old's first eye test, a teenager's increasing short-sightedness, a parent's screen fatigue and a grandparent's chronic condition, with the same records and the same people, year after year.

On the supply side, we work toward partnering with eco-conscious frame and lens suppliers, and choose frames where conscious design is part of how they are made rather than a line in the marketing.
